March Flashback

Luna Park, obviously. It wasn't open when we went.. Well, it was open, but the rides weren't going. I remember some dramas with the Lavender Bay residents years ago, saying that the constant screams and metal whine of the rollercoaster drove them mad. I can believe it. But, I kinda wish it had been possible to see Sydney Harbour from high, at speed.
The olympic pool was closed too.. but no less spectacular.
and the middle one, is the view from Jonah's at breakfast.
What a perfect holiday it was.

Nicest of nice nights in

Mustard greens and poached lightly smoked salmon fillet soup. With chilli, and lemon and Annie Hall on dvd.

home, sun, decking, happy

Spot the difference.

I have never laughed as much as when I took this photo.
I laughed til tears were streaming down my face.

around the house

Mr came home with the weighing machine last Sunday... from an antiques shop. It's only good to 4pounds, so.. I won't be hopping in there anytime soon. But it makes a rather glorious fruit bowl.

A weekend away

At Ickworth.. The food was DREADFUL. It was. But the huge bed, magazines, bike riding, endless lawns and my favourite company.. made it pretty damn great.

oh where are you

on my mind... teeth, and recipes

well, my tooth is nearly better.. and i'm planning a summer of lovely things to eat to celebrate. To not worry that it will irritate the nasty tooth. The tooth i promised to smash as soon as it was out. But I hadn't the heart. It grew from all the love and food and sun.. in my head.. when i was little and I can't smash it. I hate it, but I can't smash it.

New Shoes

Perfect. Navy blue patent leather sandals with a wooden heel. In the SALE. So happy.
Then I flipped them over, and if there'd been any doubt, there wasn't any longer. 2 swallows.. pin-pricked. I almost don't want them to have to come face to face with pavement.

Around the house

The lovely Faberge heavy glass cup that Tom's colleague S gave to him to give to me... I put a candle in it. I'm not sure what it's really meant to be for. It's actually the deepest purple blue. I love it.

Corner store pineapple. I walked down the street holding two. If only I could have magically captured my shadow, it was hilarious. Like a strange tropical dancing lady.
