puzzle

Oh wow. clever. I want one of these puzzles. Via not cot

another lunch at my desk

I know it's supposed to be terribly bad for you not to leave your desk for lunch... not to mention a germ ridden environment.. but it remains the highlight of my day. Beetroot soup, Terence Stamp fruit and nut toast with ricotta and avocado.

Clingstone

Oh I love a tale like this.. and photos like these by Erik Jacobs. I love that stuff comes along every now and then that makes me lose my breath with awe and amazement. Now read this story from the NY Times.

recurring dream

I have a dream, that I'm walking along a dam wall. I'm petrified and want to throw myself into the water, as it feels the safest option. It's crazy. I can't fathom the idea that something built by people can hold back nature like this and then I wonder if it's right and correct that we do. Is something suffering as a result... wildlife? I should read up about this.

oh to be a tiny bit taller

swoon

This outfit is so adorable, and made even more adorable by the setting, the light.. and the perfect hair. It's from Wiksten. This is my favourite post. I think it's because I wish I could write the same thing. But my childhood room is long gone.

Last night

We ate blue potato chips
and loaded cds
Cleaned up a bit
made shadow puppets on the bench
and generally prepared to visit this part of the world. Look closely. There's a man on a horse.

Yum

Artichoke. Melted cheese. Prosciutto. The blog it's from suggests it's a breakfast dish. I am thinking lunch. With a glass of wine in a shiny glass. I'm currently obsessed with shiny wine glasses. The neighbours handed me a glass of rose over the fence on Saturday in quite literally the squeakiest cleanest glass I've ever held. My glasses sadly don't keep to this standard. I need a dishwasher. But, back to the point. I want this dish. Pronto. I'm imagining emmenthal. Sweet.

Revisiting my teen movie faves

I love this film. I love Meryl Streep's breezy but tough, skinny and wiry Karen Silkwood. With any luck it will be waiting for me on the hall carpet today... amongst the bills, flyers and cards for spiritual healers. I might try to watch it tonight. With soup. Except I should be packing, washing and making lists. France on Wednesday. Driving. First time ever. I hope my bum can cope with the lack of suspension in Dita Von Peeeeters- aka, the car.

Can this be true?

A 12 yr old blogger called TAVI. Way too cool for school. I am suspicious. To imagine myself writing this stuff at the same age, no chance. I was an i.d.i.o.t.

Sunday

Miss Hodie and I took a little walk
Under the cloudy sky (which T thought was snow on a car windshield)
Smelled the roses
Saw the gingerbread men, open mouthed dames and rabbits with dirty paws
Bought some delicious sushi and consumed it on the decking
A lot of sushi
Then some crazy Japanese sweets
Then watched this film

where i'd like to sleep tonight

via This is glamorous

oh, my sentiments exactly

Hudson Bec's 'If you could' website asks 'if you could do anything tomorrow, what would it be?' and Jason Munn said this....
I couldn't agree more.

i thought i might like these....

but i got these little shiny ones instead

The recipe for a perfect weekend

Marmalade and cold salty butter on toast. Preferably with sweet, strong tea.
Or perfectly poached eggs
And a cup of strong coffee
Stacks of magazines
Perhaps a trip out for another cup of coffee made by a professional
and DVDs on the couch with this girl

one year ago...

i loved my little walk around this place.

house

I could literally walk into this house and never leave. I wouldn't change a thing. I am in love. I can feel the carpet, I can slide on the wood. I can smell the coffee in the kitchen. It looks like it could be in Leura. It isn't. And it already belongs to someone else - Nancy Lendved Via DesignSponge

The AMAZING birds of Emily Sutton. Unbelievable detail and fine stitching. I fear I may need to acquire one pronto. I might wear it permanently on my shoulder.

so pretty

I always wanted to learn to enamel. Then I heard that it's really bad for you. But now I think it's safer again. I wonder where I can learn to do it. I've been considering a summer course, residential... somewhere in the English countryside. I imagine it being like boarding school. With pimms. These via Mani Designs

a tiny loveheart in my bowl

Around the house

The weighing machine is a fruit bowl, full of smoothies waiting to happen. And the best soup I've ever made. The ingredients sound so wrong. But taste so right. Vegetables, chilli, a beaten egg stirred through until it is in noodle like ribbons and masses of basil and parmesan.
So. nice.
