Now this could even make ME want to go camping. From the lovely blog I found today called Far Out Brussel Sprout. Now, any Aussie kid of the eighties is going to know exactly where that comes from.

Too cute

Cutest weather report I ever did see.

Again via the amazing Far out brussel sprout.

Remember

Winter Wedding

I'm going to a winter wedding here in March. Can you believe it? It's like the famous five, or an Agatha Christie novel. It will be FREEEEZING. I've been stressing about what to wear already. BUT then I found this.
I got the navy, which is just about my favourite colour of all time, I can jazz the little beauty up with necklaces in red.. or green, silver... whatever. A navy velvet blazer perhaps? I am quite delighted to have found it. Indeedio.

whinging and twining

I want this. But they are always sold out! and everywhere I try to find it you have to buy it in billon kilometre bundles. Ok, that's an exaggeration. But, saying that.. KioskKiosk is brilliant, twine or no twine.

The high street high

Sometimes I curse (or cuss as Mr Fox might say) working so close to London's biggest and arguably most dreary retail street. I will today go home with this little bounty. Uniqlo cashmere and boots from ... yep Office, again. And did you know that W1 only has one road in it. Plenty of streets, but just the one road. A fact learned on a long car journey. So there.

Yamauchi Kazuaki

Look here, Look here
Bright, happy, funny, brilliant illustrations each and every one.
Yamauchi Kazuaki, you have the skills to pay the bills.

Dear VDC, You make me hyperventilate

I want EVERYTHING you make clever people at VDC,
You make the prettiest, chicest things that ever my eyes did see.

The most excellent blog in the world

Is this. An Ambitious Project Collapsing is possibly the best collection of images on the internet, ever. I once sent an email in appreciation, to no response. Now I imagine it's collated by a moody boy in a bedroom somewhere with no time for replying to compliments as he already knows how excellent it is, and it makes me love it even more.

Never wed

Dear Little Sister
Thank you for showing me Once Wed
Who knows if I will ever need it for myself, but I do love to look at other people's weddings. I love the love!

Ochazuke

I read about this Japanese comfort food on a blog- and I can't remember which. I'm posting it here as a reminder to myself to make it.
rice cooked in green tea
crumbled rice crackers
sesame and chilli sprinkles
leftover salmon or fresh raw tuna
shiso leaves
Apparently if someone asks you if you would like a bowl of Ochazuke at the end of an evening.. it's code for 'you've overstayed your welcome'
ha.

H to the H

Dear Hollister Hovey
You have a great look
a brilliant name
and a lovely blog

I'll have one of each, merci

winter wantings

I want to look neat. With shiny black boots and a cashmere coat. Yes I do.

remember

Vaseline Glass

It's like fiction. Uranium infused glass. In UV light it glows like an X file. When I was little, I cut up a glow worm. Not a real one you understand, a toy plastic glow worm. I cut it into tiny little pieces and kept it in a film canister. I would show it to other kids pretending they were 'glowing stones' I'd found in a secret place. Mad.

I'd like...

To have a picnic in this field

My imaginary mornings

I walk in here every morning Monday to Friday without fail, I look just lovely. My hair is in a messy bun, my tiny French style children's coat hangs just right and everyone is happy to see me and the kisses on my cheeks are endless. I need not even order my coffee and marmalade toast for all the lovely waiter-boys fight to be the one to make it first, for the chance to chat a little more.
