Teatote

This will soon be on its way to me. How gorgeous. I've ordered other things I can't post up because certain people might look at this blog and a surprise will be ruined. They are made by Glasgow textile artist Gillian Kyle (though the site is still a holding site), and can be bought here.

of pens and wood

For TT I have ordered this artwork by one Sean Morris of Perth (Australia Perth) - or at least one similar to this,as this was sold. It's called Blackwater Bodysurfing and was part of an exhibition at Little Creatures- who then banned it for being obscene or something. I don't understand. Anyway, the full story is here. Visit his blog, his flickr. Amazing stuff huh? I can't wait for it to arrive. And he was lovely and did it so quickly. Yay.

Puffin Post

Tom's mum had a stack of little diaries and notebooks that she'd collected over the years- she used to work at Puffin. I admired them and thumbed them, photographed them and coveted them. She gave me the 1975 one at one point. The year of my birth and one of the loveliest things I've ever been given. I google searched a lot at one point on the amazing 'in-house illustrator' Jill McDonald, but little could be found. There's more now, since the relaunch of Puffin Post. I am trying to get them to let me do a cover! But.. Central St Martin's students are commissioned for this year at least. I'll keep trying. A fantastic Puffin Club Archive blog now exists, and I've posted a few examples above, but it's so worth a look, it's just fantastic.

Wendy

I always wanted a Wendy House. I may have even got one. Well, not a Wendy House so much as an ikea coloured igloo. With flexible white poles that only Dad could put in. I would have liked one like the middle one. Which I stole from someone's online album and now have no idea where. Oops and sorry. Only now looking for pictures of them, after seeing one on TV, did I realise that they were so named after Peter Pan's Wendy. There you go. What did I do before Wikipedia?

Of saturdays and William Klein

Just watched a doco on BBC 4 whilst eating an assortment of stupidly expensive but very lovely carpet picnic items from my afternoon in the Selfridges food hall. It was about a group of photographers including William Klein.. the ill-tempered Eggleston and others. It was amazing and just what I needed. My enthusiasm for life just shot up.

Hernan Paginini

Oh what a nice workspace. Hernan Paganini from the lovely myloveforyou blog. His name reminded me I read a book in my childhood, called Paginini Strikes Again, so I looked it up. It turns out it was turned into a TV series. It was about a violin. The stills make me want to see that too.

My dream life..

Nicolette Camille's kitchen is just crying out for me to arrive and take it over. I'm not sure what she'd say about that.. but I imagine a million other Design Sponge readers feel the same.

pen man

Oh Design Sponge guest blogger Man Make Home tipped me off to the AMAZING Nigel Peake. Maps and lines and buildings and colour. I am just a little in love. How can I not have known about him before now?
